Come Alive: Embracing the Mid-Life Awakening
Inspired by the lyrics of “Come Alive” from The Greatest Showman combined with my personal experience….. and what I have seen in my clients time and time again.

In the journey of life, there often comes a pivotal moment when we confront the reality of our existence. It's a crossroads where we find ourselves teetering on the edge between the familiar and the unknown, between the safety of routine and the exhilaration of uncharted paths. It's in these critical junctures that the seeds of a Mid-Life Awakening can either be sown or ignored, resulting in the stark dichotomy between embracing life to the fullest or falling into the despair of a mid-life crisis. To offer a little transparency, I marched head first into my mid-life crisis and found myself in the fetal position of our massive shower crying out “This isn’t what I signed up for! There has to be more! This can’t be the way the rest of my life goes!” Full transparency lets you know that Jana caught me in the shower like that, but the audible cries had succumbed to desperate inner hauntings. But like many of us, I got up, shook it off, and got back to my sameness. I did my best to compartmentalize and power through the embarrassment and thought, “I’ll wait for the timing to be right to make a change.” God help me.
